(20/10/26) “Joseph Ratzinger and his sources” is the theme of the Conference to be held from 4 to 6 November in Rochester, Minnesota, organised by The New Ressourcement – a quarterly journal of theology and philosophy published by Word on Fire Academic, serving the Church and the academic world through the publication of scholarly articles that demonstrate the depth and relevance of the Catholic tradition.
“The conference”, explain the organisers, “seeks to explore the intellectual world of Joseph Ratzinger / Benedict XVI and the principal figures and texts that shaped his theological vision and papacy. These include Scripture, Augustine, Bonaventure, the liturgy, friends and mentors, and even those with whom he disagreed”.
Participants at the conference will include, amongst others, Cardinal Kurt Koch, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity; Monsignor Robert Barron, Bishop of Winona-Rochester; Professor Pierluca Azzaro, Executive Secretary of the Ratzinger Foundation; Professor Tracey Rowland; and Professor Cyril O’Regan, all of whom have been awarded the Ratzinger Prize in recent years.
