Among the participants, there was also the ex President of Colombia Belisario Betancur, who donated his own library to the Bolivarian Pontifical University in 2006.

Photo gallery of the International Conference that was held at the Pontifical Bolivarian University of Medellin, Colombia, on 23rd-24th October 2014 and organized by the Joseph Ratzinger – Benedict XVI Vatican Foundation. Among the speakers there were, from the left: Msgr. Giuseppe Antonio Scotti, President of the Ratzinger Foundation, the Dominican archbishop Jean-Louis Bruguès, archivist and librarian of the Holy Roman Church, the archbishop Ettore Balestrero, apostolic nuncio in Colombia, the archbishop of Medellin Ricardo Tobón Restrepo and Julio Jairo Ceballos Sepúlveda, rector of the Bolivarian Pontifical University.
One thousand people participated in the International Conference: they were mainly from Colombia, but also from other countries of Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic and Venezuela) but also from overseas (Belgium, France, Italy, Holland, Spain and India).
