(29/9/15) The page that presents the next initiatives of the Joseph Ratzinger – Benedict XVI Vatican Foundation in October and November 2015 has already been published in the newspaper Avvenire and people can read it in the other newspapers of the Italian Federation of Catholic Weeklies.
On 28th and 29th October the Fifth International Congress of the Vatican Foundation will be held at the University Francisco de Vitoria of Madrid. It will be celebrated during the Teresian jubilee, 500 years after the birth of Saint Therese of Avila.
“From the Bible to the Library – Benedict XVI and the Culture of the Word of God” is the topic of the speech Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, President of the Pontifical Council of Culture, will make on 18th November, during the opening ceremony of the library Biblioteca Romana Joseph Ratzinger-Benedetto XVI, inside the library of the Teutonic College, in the Vatican City. The cultural initiative is the result of the collaboration with the Roman Institute of the Society of Görres. From 19th to 21st November, on the 10th anniversary of the publication of the first encyclical by Benedict XVI the International Symposium “Deus caritas est. Porta di misericordia” will be held in Rome. It was organized by various universities and other scientific institutions and cardinals Koch, Müller, Sarah, Cordes, Ranjith, Scola and the bishops Dal Covolo y Fisichella will make a speech. At the end of the two days of the Congress, the emeritus Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, the director of the newspaper Corriere della Sera Luciano Fontana, the archbishop of Milan Angelo Scola and the bishop of Faenza Mario Toso will participate in a roundtable.
On 21st November the Ratzinger Prize will be celebrated. The prize will be given to scholars who dedicated their lives to scientific research in the theological context.
