BENEDICT XVI ATTENDS THE CHRISTMAS CONCERT OF THE PUERI CANTORES

(31/12/15) The Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI attended a concert of the German chorus called “Jugendkantorei su Eichstätt Dom”, at the “Assunta Hall”, the studio of the Vatican Radio in the Vatican Gardens, as the Vatican station reported. The Choir, made up of 36 boys and girls from 12 to 18 years old is now in Rome to attend the 40th  International Congress of the “Pueri Cantores”. The director of the Choir was Christian Heiss.

The choir sang pieces from Mendelssohn Bartoldy, Johannes Brahms, Benjamin Britten and the Christmas song “O du fröhliche”, arranged by the Pope’s brother Msgr. Georg Ratzinger, who attended the concert with the archbishop Georg Gaenswein, prefect of the Pontifical Household and the cardinal Giovanni Lajolo, who was apostolic nuncio in Germany. At the end of the concert, Benedict XVI thanked the guys and wished them a Happy New Year and a good stay in Rome.
