(22/6/15) On 4th July, in Castel Gandolfo, Benedict XVI will be awarded a honorary doctorate from the Pontifical University of John Paul II and the Krakow Music Academy. This university and the city of Krakow were close to Pope Wojtyla’s heart. The Senate of the Krakow Music Academy affirmed that the Pope emeritus will be awarded for his moral and civil commitment and his religious achievements. He also has a great care for sacred music and an important role in liturgy.
