LETTER FROM BENEDICT XVI PUBLISHED ON CORRIERE DELLA SERA

lettera BXVI - Corsera

(7/2/18) Today, Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera published a letter from the emeritus Pope Benedict XVI on the front page. The letter is dated 5th February and it was addressed to the reporter Massimo Franco who had wrote him to ask about his health and how he spent his time at Mater Ecclesiae Monastery, on behalf of the readers of the newspaper. The following is the text written by the Pope:

“Dear Mr. Franco,

I was moved by the many readers of your newspaper who desire to know how I am spending this last period of my life. I can only say that in the slow waning of my physical forces, inwardly I am on a pilgrimage towards Home. It is a great grace for me to be surrounded, on this last part of the road, sometimes a bit tiring, by such love and goodness that I could have  never  imagined. In this sense, I consider the question of your readers as an accompaniment. I can only thank them and assure you all of my prayers.

Kind regards,

Benedict XVI”
